To say that our sector has been busy would be an understatement. We are currently gearing up for a new funding system which we are hopeful that it may go some way to making up for the enormous levels of underfunding that Aged Care has, and is, currently experiencing.
We remain hopeful that long-awaited Government funding will lead to pay increases for our nursing staff. Nurses are the mainstay of our industry, and they deserve to be recognised for the significant contributions they make every day. This can be applied to every single person who works tirelessly in our centres. They too are to be commended and we will continue to lobby for better conditions on their behalf.
Our unwavering commitment to a residential aged care system that consistently provides exemplary care to elderly residents in Australia remains at the forefront. The stark reality is, that without a viable funding system, the necessary funds required to build new centres, which are so desperately needed, will be challenging on a state and national level.
SummitCare however, is now in the enviable position of being awarded several Development Approvals for new aged care centres. These centres have been designed by leading architects with the latest care, technology, and lifestyle standards in mind.
We all look towards the new Albanese Government for effective leadership in this vital area. If we are given the opportunity, SummitCare will work together with the Government and the community in the development and provision of world class standards of care in Australia.
As we fast approach Christmas I would also like to extend our warmest regards to all our “SummitCare family”. We wish you and your loved ones a wonderful Christmas and may you be blessed with good health, prosperity, and happiness in the coming year. Peter Wohl and family.
