Welcome to the Autumn Edition of SummitCare News, It is difficult to believe that we are already on the tail end of February having, it seems, just finished closing out Christmas!!! So it’s a welcome to 2024 and we hope that for Summit Care this will indeed be an exciting year ahead.
As I have mentioned previously, we have been working diligently over the past few years to gain development approvals for a number of new Aged Care sites which have now been approved by Council together with State Government Planning Panels. Given this, our senior teams will now be working on obtaining Construction Certificates for our sites which will then enable us to go to builders for tender purposes. All very exciting and I will keep you informed on our progress as things unfold.
Our SummitCare Board also looks forward to commencing our “Strategic Planning” in May, where we will look at how SummitCare currently delivers our services and how we might do this in the future in order to deliver the best possible outcomes for our residents, families and staff. During this planning session we will team up with Grant Corderoy from Stewart Brown (a leading accounting firm specialising in Aged Care). Grant will facilitate discussions and we will invite external participants to engage with us to maximise the benefit from this day.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful teams throughout our SummitCare homes. From our Senior Leadership teams to our administration personnel, nurses, kitchen and laundry staff, cleaners and everyone who wears a SummitCare name tag each day. We could not provide the services that we do, and more importantly with the love and kindness given to our residents without each and every one of you. Whatever we do, our credo of Warmth, Worth and Wellbeing remains at the core and heart of everything we do. A special thank you from our team to everyone involved.
As we head towards the Easter festive season I sincerely hope that we can all spend time in reflection and gratitude for what we have and especially for the wonderful country that we are blessed to live in whilst we share moments of joy with loved ones and those important to us in our lives.
