Essential Qualifications
- Registered Nurse- List A
- At least five years experience in aged care
- Experience to a level greater than in charge registered nurse
- Expertise in clinical practice
- Ability to provide clinical leadership and adherence to best practice
- Knowledge of and profound understanding of ACFI
- Ability to build a team and be a team player
- Demonstrated people management skills
- Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in set time frames
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the aged care accreditation process
- Exceptional communication and conflict management skills
- Medium level computer skills
- Commitment to work in and to actively practice SummitCare’s Vision, Credo, purpose and values
Desirable Qualifications
- Post graduate qualifications in gerontology or related field
- Aged care management experience
Role Summary
As an Assistant Manager - Care & Lifestyle within SummitCare, you will be accountable to the Manager - Care & Lifestyle for the day-to-day care management issues of the centre. You will be required to ensure that the principles of clinical governance are employed throughout the facility. In the role you will be required to foster a culture of positive and innovative best practice care principles, ensuring that residents receive the highest standard of care our centres strive for. Other considerations you will be responsible for include the day to day management of human resources such as staffing and resource allocation and the optimisation of ancillary services. Your role as part of the management team entails responsibilities in complaint management and embrace the concept of continuous quality improvement and ensuring that all staff encompass those principles into the day to day service delivery of the centre.
